In
Stoddard's Footsteps
Presentation & Traveling Exhibit
Over the last several years, Bowie has photograped in
the pioneering footsteps of Adirondack photographer
Seneca Ray Stoddard, who from his Glens Falls base,
photographed the settling of the Adirondack region over
100 years ago. Mark re-visited numerous locations, using
large and panoramic format equipment, trying to photograph,
as closely as possible from Stoddard locations. The
results are fascinating, an insightful look at the changes
in the landscape over the last 100 years. First exhibited
at the Chapman Museum in Glens Falls in the summer of
2005, the project is now available as a traveling exhibit.
It features 40 of Stoddard's classic images side-by-side
with Bowie's re-creations. To inquire about displaying
it at your facility, please contact
us.

Adirondack
Waters: Spirit of the Mountains
is the complementary program to Bowie's new coffee table
book of the same name. This digital multi-format program
is a visual and sensory spectacle, featuring the myriad
of waters found in the Adirondack Park --- its beautiful
lakes and ponds, rivers and streams, brooks and creeks,
wetlands and waterfalls. The images are showcased with
Mark's sensitive writings and quotes from Adirondack
literature, and set to music. It's an inspired tribute
to the incomparable gift of waters that give the Adirondack
Park its unique look and feel.

The
Adirondacks: Light on the Landscape
is an inspired portfolio showcasing the incredible
diversity of the Adirondack landscape. It features
large-scale prints of some of Bowie's finest Adirondack
work. Photographed with several different camera
formats and processed using the latest printmaking
technologies, the results are absolutely breathtaking.
The images were photographed all around the Park,
in all four seasons, and under dramatically different
lighting conditions.
The
audience is taken on a visual and emotional journey
as Bowie supplements the photography with intriguing
insights into the Park -- from field experiences
to excerpts from Adirondack literature. There
is time to study each piece in detail, to examine
the artistry of the medium, the essence and lore
of this beautiful place.

The
Adirondacks: In the Spirit of Awe & Wonder
The Adirondack experience is ultimately a multi-sensory
one. Sights, sounds, and memories define a certain character
of this place. These wonders have coalesced in this
place as no where else.
This multi-format program features images of the mountains,
woods & waters - that showcase the regions
unique "spirit of place". The images are supplemented
by music and the written word. Its an awe-inspiring
tribute to this timeless Park.

The
Adirondack Experience
Digital Presentation
is a multi-format program featuring large and panoramic
format images showcasing the area's rich diversity of
woods and waters --- in grand moment and intimate detail,
by the light of midnight, in the quiet of a backwoods
dawn --- projected with state-of-the-art digital equipment.
The imagery is supplemented with Bowie's writing, anecdotes
from the field, and Adirondack literature. |

"It
has been said, 'One picture is worth a thousand words',
however, your expression in words was the perfect embellishment
of the exquisite photos - a sincere expression of your
deepest feelings for God's beautiful creation. Thanks
for sharing..." |
